BICENTENNIAL CHIC Trailer #1

This is the trailer for my upcoming book BICENTENNIAL CHIC: Bronx Bombers, Son of Sam, Kissteria & the Birth of Saturday Night Fever.

A sprawling New York City odyssey straight through the debaucherous heart of the 1970s...

The heart of the 1970s as we know them exists within the space of 18 months. For the most part, it happens in New York City, while the effects reverberate across America long into the 21st century.

With disco music thriving in the city's black and gay communities and the genre finally reaching mainstream white suburbia, producer Robert Stigwood sets out to make the film that will spark a full-scale cultural revolution.

The Yankees, a.k.a. Bronx Bombers enter the age of free agency under the leadership of George Steinbrenner, who is determined to restore the faltering legendary baseball team back to their former glory… at any price.

Shock rockers Kiss, with their fire-breathing, guitar-smoking, blood-spitting, ear-splitting levels of volume and eye-popping visuals are adjusting to their newfound success. However, the roller coaster of sudden stardom illuminates the cracks in the foundation of a band already breaking apart from within, all the while influencing the next two generations of hard rock and heavy metal.

In an era of widespread crime, it's difficult to tell one day from the next, much less one shooting from the next… leaving the first victims to fall away and blend in with everything else while nobody knows a serial killer is roaming the streets.

BICENTENNIAL CHIC is set against a kaleidoscopic background of music, media, sports, fashion, sex, greed, and murder. As America pushes toward the biggest birthday celebration in its history, landmark events in Hollywood, professional sports, rock music, and the underground dance floors of New York City will inevitably merge black, white, straight and gay subcultures into mainstream American living rooms.
